St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Such an island is Young Island in the Grenadines, an enchanted private island paradise. Legend say is was once the home of a Carib Indian chief who traded his island of a black stallion. Today, pottery shards are occasionally turned up by the more adventurous, supporting the local legend.

Enchantment follows discovery on the 35 acres that is YOUNG ISLAND. It is virtually a tropical garden. The trees are in fruit and flowers are everywhere. White ginger, hibiscus, crotons and ferns, to name a few, are sheltered under tall palms, giant almonds, mango, coffee, nutmeg, flamboyant and breadfruit trees. On the beach, where white sand eases gently into the Caribbean, there are chaise lounges and mattresses for sunbathers.

There are also hammocks hung under thatched roofs for reading and napping in the shade. The cooling trade winds are ever constant and enjoyed too for sailing and windsurfing. Wind surfers, small sailboats, glass bottom boat, snorkels, masks and flippers are available at no charge. Water skiing and scuba diving are readily available.

NOTES ON YOUNG ISLAND RESORT
Intimate resort on private island - Mostly for double occupancy. (king/2 twin beds).
All accommodations are ocean view with private furnished terrace or patio.
YOUNG ISLAND accommodations are all in cottages with a refrigerator, hair dryer, wall safe, ceiling fan, open air garden shower
        and private patio.
Superior: 19 king bedded cottages nearest the beach and shoreline, or low on the hillside.
Deluxe: 4 larger king bedded cottages with a sitting area within the bedroom, or with a very large private patio.
Luxury suites: 1 hillside suite which has a bedroom with 2 queen beds, separate sitting room, large terrace, and CD player.
Luxury w/ pool: 5 suites with a bedroom, separate sitting room, private Plunge Pool and CD Player.2 are Beachside with King
        Bed & 2 are Hillside with 2 Queen beds.
Duvernette Suite: Our top suite with air conditioned bedroom, large living room, dining area, spacious outdoor patio space and
        small  swimming pool.  CD player and telephone are all in this special suite.
Single occupancy: use dbl rate x2 less $720.

NOTES / SCUBA DIVING

NAUI, PADI, CMAS
Location / dive shop: across island. Pick up by boat at hotel pier.
Boats: 3 to take up to 8 divers per boat  (no cattle-boats ) Any group of 6 will have their own boat
         No decompression dives.
Encourage diving with computers ( multi level ).
Boat leaves at 10AM / returns around 1PM
Pick-up gear on first day, then gear can stay at dive shop, for cleaning and storage.
About 30 sites / 30 minutes away ( very rarely any current ) - No shore diving

1 tank $60 2 tank $110 10 tanks pkg $500 Night dive: $65 w / min 4 divers
Resort course: $70 / 4 hrs. ( after which you can add to any dive package )
Referral course: add $10 per dive above any dive pkg (not incl: PIC envelope).
Full certification: $435 w / 5 or 6 hrs study / day and 5 dives ( includes all equipment ).
